Key Stage 3

When you arrive with us in September of year 7, you will spend some time learning about the Bar Model with your form class and then after 2 weeks you will be placed in an appropriate Maths set. This Maths teacher will assess your progress throughout the year using a variety of assessment techniques and intervene with intervention in the classroom if and when required.

You will continue to improve and strengthen the numeracy skills that you have developed at primary school and differentiated resources will support you to fulfil your potential in Mathematics. Throughout years 7, 8 & 9 you will be given the opportunity to be involved in the junior maths challenge.

The Key Stage Coordinator, Miss Gilbert, will oversee your progress in year 7,8 & 9 and intervene when appropriate with strategies for getting you back on track.
